MD Isalon Organic Banana Agri Ventures, Inc., located in the hilly terrain of barangay Bongabong, Pantukan, Compostela Valley Province, produces cavendish bananas that are less-chemically treated. This 180-hectare plantation, formerly a part of the Nova Vista Management and Development Corporation, was spin-off from NVMDC in May 1999.

MD Isalon's less-chemical bananas are exported primarily to Japan where organic and less-chemically treated fruits have become very popular among its health-conscious consumers. The FAO estimated the 1997 Japanese market for organic food was approximately US$ 1 billion, with organic bananas accounting for 0.3 percent. The MD Isalon is in a perfect position to become a leader in the global organic banana market.
